Post for Film, Latin Union. October 2008

For more than 14 months that began with the initiative of convening professional assembly, editing, and all areas of Post Production in Venezuela, with the aim of creating a reference, accessible, public, free of our experience as professionals in our country, for the community, and the rest Our America. A sensitive issue for our audiovisual medium, we express on the conclusions of our first talks on postproduction for film, made in the context of the first festival of the UCV Short in November 2009:

".. . Civil servants working in the financing institutions involved in audiovisual production and film, surely also include the promotion and sponsorship of this initiative will yield a better use of capital that the state invests in the production of film and audiovisual today, having a tool to prevent unplanned spending budget for these productions ... "

and we expand our material the professional Postprodución Talk Cinema, in August 2010:

Suggestions for improving the flow of
postproduction work in Venezuela:

1 .- at the prospect of the emergence of new audiovisual training centers, it is essential that when developing the curriculum design of them take into account the need to train qualified technicians to work in various areas of the post, because Venezuela needs technicians, it is therefore imperative that the training centers of the hand of the ministry of higher education arts design studies and offices for academic qualifications. Future film school should play a leading role in the formation of new intermediate and advanced professionals in the area of postproduction, which not only handles aesthetic, historical or socio-political part of "art cinema", but also have the technical training needed to assume professional responsibilities in post-production and thereby encourage the emergence of a once and for all of our film industry.

The criteria for the profile of the post workers should not be in the hands of employers and owners of private utilities. should be part of designing ideal of citizenship, which can develop and assist the development of the model of country we want in the future.

2 .- A degree in post-production film UNEARTE power may be the product of an interagency collaboration between Latin American film schools with qualified American teacher exchange and solid professional experience, EICTV , CCC, Universidad de Buenos Aires, etc. this is what makes prestigious film schools in Latin America and the world, who spend much of their human capital investment, trainer of trainers.

3.-in Venezuela, the state may organize interagency collaboration between the Villa del Cine, private laboratories and film production houses with HD technology in the country, if any. to receive and assist in training of students in post-production film UNEARTE faculty, it being understood that only cooperation will improve working conditions postptroducción. Also be considered in providing the best possible new audiovisual training onsite, with updated equipment in the various technologies that can be obtained through agreements with discounts for educational institutions ... this is possible and is a reality that has benefited other educational institutions in the area audiovisual in our own country and Latin America.

Film Talk Post UNEARTE

Today, the Post-Production professionals in Venezuela, we should be aware that due to lack of training post, in Installation, Layout, Animation. or Professional Sound in our country, there view that in Venezuela there is no qualified staff in the area of Post . This opinion is obviously the product of ignorance of our experiences, due to lack of information or product in the worst case, actions and trends that may benefit some sectors of our audiovisual means to gain access to skilled workers with proven experience, but according to our work obligations because, as assemblers, editors and post producer, in our country we have neither a senior technical title university or a bachelor's degree, supported by our governing bodies of education.

However, today there is a new educational option that could bring light to our medium of film and audiovisual on Post: it is the new PNF of Audiovisual Arts, which currently promotes and experience of the Experimental University Arts UNEARTE, This new educational project for our guild represents an opportunity to vindicate post the rightful place in our office. Especially since it is a University of Arts. this is the space where we could and should develop the study and research cinematic language of Venezuela. Field so close to our office, and so necessary for our colleagues and Film Studies, which unfortunately often forgotten that the editors, screenwriters and directly affect the language experiments of an audiovisual production, as well as the other areas managers audiovisual recognized in our profession.

The National Experimental University of the Arts UNEARTE , according to the approach of the "Alma Mater" and the lines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Higher Education, currently studying the possibility of proving the professional experience of workers of our medium of film and audiovisual, in order to extend the opportunity to study in this center of education. And not only enable future income from undergraduate recognized and guaranteed by our country to strengthen their own professional resumes, and get a way to improve the conditions of their own work, but in the case of those who feel they can collaborate, they can bring to the education of our profession of film editing, or the Post Audiovisual may also send their CV, with all its media in post-production and assembly, to UNEARTE assessors can take into account nominations.

For these reasons, this is the best time to meet to discuss and propose alternatives to improve the conditions of our profession in our country. from the Cooperativa El Perro Andaluz, and as founder of the media space, I an invitation to post-production professionals in our country present their experience. In this regard, and although we do not have any influence or anything like that, we propose a space as a conduit for concerns before these perspectives.
